The NHL Awards are on tonight!
It’s the hockey fan’s version of the Oscars: Boring, not funny, and nobody that you want to win is going to. Still, I’d watch it over the Oscars any day.
I haven’t been a fan of the Oscars since I was a teenager, but at least they don’t leak the winner of the biggest prize. Sure, it was an annoying foregone conclusion (I wanted Evgeni Malkin to win, but I assumed it would be Ovechkin), but there was at least a chance it could be somebody else.
Last year at about this time, Interchangeable Parts set the standard for awards-show-watching with their diary of the 2007 NHL Awards. As a result, I have vowed never to watch another awards show that they don’t diarize.
Although they might be on a slight TiVo delay, along with me (and really, who isn’t on a slight TiVo delay?), Schnookie and Pookie will be making the NHL Awards show worth watching again tonight. Come on by and hang out with us!

You’re so right, Patty — we really all are TiVo delays, aren’t we? :D
Thanks for the link. You’re too kind!
I once heard a broadcaster of another sport announcing some injury news and he said, “So-and-so is listed as day-to-day. As are we all.”
One of my favorite New Yorker cartoons featured a couple dressing for an evening out; the man is saying, “Can’t we just TiVo the Hendersons and stay in tonight?”
Hi Patty, thanks for stopping by and for voting! Next round is posted Friday and the remaining goalies face off.
And you can vote on Jenn’s page too :D
Feel free to kick us a link. We need lotsssss of votes.
