This is going to be short. It’s hard to analyze what kind of game they had when they are shutout, and it’s by Detroit.
They actually played fairly well. Much better than the last Detroit game, and better than the Minnesota game. If it weren’t for the one fairly soft goal that Mike Smith gave up in the third, and the empty-net goal, it would have been 1-0 against a team we’re basically afraid of. But that still isn’t a win, and it makes four losses in a row.
Mike Ribeiro was a little better tonight, but he still lost the puck to a Detroit player at least five times. I counted three in the first period and then got mad and stopped counting. But to be fair, he made a couple of plays in the third period that didn’t turn the puck over. So there you go.
Mike Heika and Andrews Stars Page both thought they played better in longer stretches, so it’s good to know I’m not the only one that thinks they’ll be okay. I feel like it’s a slump, and every team goes through them. It kills me while it’s going on, but I can usually forget about it when it’s over.
Right now they’re in a slump, and it’s killing me.
