The Dallas Morning News has a kind of unsatisfying behind-the-scenes video of the photo shoot for new billboards.
It’s satisfying in that it exists at all, but it’s really short and there’s no closeups of the players and we don’t get to see any of the photos, and it’s really short. It’s not the videographer’s fault, though. I’m sure the marketing company wants to save some surprises for the actual launch of the campaign.
Still fun, though.
I hope this year’s billboard campaign can at least live up to last year’s. People all over the country were talking about it, even in other sports. It was great. It looks like they’re going to use some players’ faces this time, so it could be pretty cool.
When I entered the slogan contest last year, I made some suggestions that were based on pictures of the players. Maybe they took some of them to heart. If we see Boucher up on a billboard in nothing but his hockey pants and socks and skates, we’ll know they got my letter.
